บทที่ 3 ซอฟต์แวร์ประยุกต์

        Application Software หรือ ซอฟต์แวร์ประยุกต์ คือซอฟต์แวร์ประเภทหนึ่งสำหรับใช้งานสำหรับงานเฉพาะทาง ซึ่งแตกต่างกับซอฟต์แวร์ประเภทอื่น เช่น ระบบปฏิบัติการ ที่ใช้สำหรับรับรองการทำงานหลายด้าน โดยไม่จำเพาะเจาะจง

        Categories of Application Software

5. Shareware

6. Freeware

7. Public-domain software

     

Application Software รูปแบบต่างๆที่ใช้กันอยู่ในปัจจุบัน

        Business Software หรือ โปรแกรมที่ใช้ในธุรกิจ คือ โปรแกรมทีี่ใช้ในหน่วยงานเกี่ยวกับธุรกิจประเภท ต่างๆ ทั้งในสำนักงานและที่พักอาศัย ได้แก่

1. Word Processing Software ตัวอย่างโปรแกรม Microsoft Office Word 2007 เป็นต้น

2. Spreadsheet Software : Software ประเภทนี้จะประกอบไปด้วย Spreadsheet Organization,   

    Caculation, Recaculation, Charting ตัวอย่างโปรแกรม Microsoft Office Excel 2007 เป็นต้น   

3. Database Software ตัวอย่างโปรแกรม Microsoft Office Access 2007 เป็นต้น

4. Presentation Software ตัวอย่างโปรแกรม Macromedia Flash 8, Microsoft Office PowerPoint 

    2007 เป็นต้น

        Graphics and Multimedia Software คือ โปรแกรมเกี่ยวกับการจัดการเกี่ยวกับรูปภาพ สื่อต่างๆ แสง สี เสียง ที่เกี่ยวกับด้านความบันเทิงและความสวยงาม
1. Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Software ตัวอย่างโปรแกรม Auto CAD 2010 เป็นต้น
2. Desktop Publishing (DTP) Software
3. Paint/Image Editing Software ตัวอย่างโปรแกรม Adobe Photoshop CS4  เป็นต้น

        Web Applications คือ โปรแกรมอำนวยความสะดวกต่างๆ ที่เปิดใช้ผ่านทาง Internet โดยมีผู้ให้บริการแตกต่างกันไป เช่น https://docs.google.com เป็น URL ของ Web Applications บน Google


        Application Software for Communications คือ โปรแกรมอำนวยความสะดวกในการติดต่อสื่อสาร อาทิเช่น Web Browser, E-Mail, Chatroom เป็นต้น
